Social Media Strategist

We are looking for an experienced social media strategist to join our team. You must have proven experience of devising and implementing successful digital marketing campaigns, have a high degree of understanding of social media platforms and how they can benefit business as well as a solid understanding of search engine optimization and how it is complimented by social media.

If you are a motivated self-starter, with superb communication and written skills and strong knowledge of content creation and seeding (including the ability to analyze, test and research ideas fully), then we want to hear from you.

Your role will be to create, develop and manage campaigns for customers and increase traffic, interaction and revenue via social media. To develop specific community mapping documents based on individual clients needs, setting up the technical aspects of each campaign where needed or on an ad-hoc basis and tracking of each of the campaigns, from reputation management to engagement metrics. You will need to assess strategies currently in place for existing clients and to recommend new or amended campaigns to help grow brand awareness, increase traffic, improve return on investment and grow the various social media properties.

Main responsibilities


Campaign Strategy

  • To provide strategic social media campaigns for clients (all aspects including creating, tracking, technical setup, blogger outreach, seeding, structure, delivery and results analysis)
  • To define innovative social media strategies for high profile brands with a strong focus on ROI
  • To run competitions of varying size from massive yearly multi-channel competitions to simple giveaways via web 2.0 properties
  • To ensure social search is fully integrated to the overall digital marketing campaign
  • To focus campaign work around agreed client objectives and monitor results through agreed KPIs

Client Focus

  • To provide reputation and brand crisis management
  • To aid the Head of social media with pitch documentation and presentation
  • To provide new clients with a full social media audit specific to their industry
  • To act as a point of contact for social media queries for clients and Nine Digital staff
  • To act as a representative of the social media team in client meetings, providing valuable direction

Technical & Analytical

  • To maintain a high level of social media knowledge in all streams
  • To provide community mapping and competitor analysis
  • To research and develop social tools

KPIs and Best Practice

  • To be a stakeholder in helping achieve growth and activity for the Nine Digital brand via social media
  • To help the Head of social media develop the voice of the company on social media
  • To provide insight and thought on social media to ensure Nine Digital remains on the cutting edge of all things social media
  • To aid the Head of social media to increase visibility of the Nine Digital brand
  • To help monitor, maintain and improve KPI’s related to social media
  • To actively contribute to the Nine Digital blog

Key skills and experience

  • High-level understanding of the different social media channels Strong knowledge of content creation, online PR, Social Media optimization and engagement.
  • Strong background within Digital Media
  • A proven track record of delivering results through strategic social media campaigns.
  • Experience of building creativity into campaigns
  • Understanding of market trends and campaign analysis
  • Strong presentation skills both verbally and written
  • Have own site or blog, regularly use a variety of social media properties and enjoying testing/exploring
  • Demonstrable success of social community building
  • Proficient user of Google Analytics plus other social media metrics platforms/tools
  • Proactive and highly organized, with strong project management and planning skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to deliver clear and concise ideas to internal and external customers of all levels
  • Able to work both on own initiative and as part of a team
